Would You?

Would you help your kids TP a house?
I'm not a big TP'er. Not that I really object to the concept, it's just that you have to stay up past 9pm to be a successful TP'er -- especially in the summer.

If you're a kid in our family and you want to TP somebody's house, you should ask The Brain. Not only will he drive you and your friends, he will take you to buy a supply, and he will likely pay for it, too. He'll even talk strategy with you on the way over. But it's all harmless fun. At least I think so. If we get a phone call in the morning and someone wants help cleaning up their yard, everyone who participated will head over to do it.

When a mother in Nebraska drove a group of kids to wrap a house, she got in trouble for it. She waited in the car while the kids did the dirty work. But they went a bit too far, using syrup, tape, and dish washing soap along with the toilet paper to decorate the home of a teacher. The kids even wrote a message to her on the driveway.

I wonder who was more embarrassed. The mom who got, um, arrested for vandalism, or her children, who had to go to school the next day to hear the scandalous chitchat?
Dude! Your MOM took you TP'ing and got arrested?

Nevermind. Stupid Question.

I have vivid memories of my parents taking us TP'ing while they crouched down in the front seat waiting for the getaway signal. Although we never got arrested!

oooohhhh... I don't know if I'll do that or not. I don't think my DH would do it (he's not a night person, AND he wouldn't appreciate it being done to his yard), so I guess that leaves me, huh?? Okay, maybe SOMEONE doesn't have to do it, but if I don't, will my kids end up going with someone like the woman in Nebraska and do it the mean way?? I'd rather teach them the nice way, and help them clean it up, too. (okay, maybe my morning-person-DH can do the clean up....)

lol! oh man....I learned everything I know about TPing from 'The Brain'.. Good times good times... But I would never go as far as sticky things and notes.... Forks in the yard maybe..... but only it they aren't in deep and you make them look like a smiley face or something....

yep, i would go with em if they wanted me to. one of my favorite youth memories was of being chased around the neighborhoods after we TPed some youth leader's house in our ward. i felt like we were escape and evading the enemy, like in a viatnam movie. what a fun night!

~enjoyed this, kathleen :)
