Gone Home

I thought I would be sad, and it would hit me really hard.
But all I can think about is this:

And this:

And the celebration that's going on somewhere else.

President Hinckley, I'll miss you more than words can say, but I know without a doubt, that you are where you belong.

Thank-you for everything. I'll see you "soon"!

Randi,
I feel the very same way. I'm so sad to be losing him for now, but SO happy that he is finally able to be reunited with his love.

That is exactly how I have been feeling. It has been extremely hard on my children though.

What a great post. We can't really begrudge him going home can we?

(I'm still here, hee hee!)

I can't remember how I ended up here. First time. I read you comment policy and thought I would comply...
Oh, and I felt the same thing as you when I heard of our prophets passing. I thought I would be sad, but I just think he's earned a break. And a kiss from his sweetheart.

It is a loss to us still here but what a golden ticket I think he must have had! He is with his sweetheart. What an awesome man.

My thoughts exactly! I sat back as soon as I heard and thought, "Am I going to cry?" and then my mind just filled with pictures like these. I loved President and Sister Hinckley so much together. It's hard to be anything but happy that their time apart is finally over.

Sad for us, beautiful for them.

He will be greatly missed here, but think of what the spirit world has gained?

You could see how much he missed her everytime he spoke of her. I'm happy that they are together again.

I know how important this man was to your Church. I'm sure Heaven is granting him a very warm welcome. I'm sorry for your loss, but happy that he's gone home to his rewards.

I had the unique opportunity to live across the street from the home where he raised his family. We saw him often. This was my post with a few of those memories.

I so agree with you! I will miss him greatly, but I'm so happy he is once again with "the girl of his dreams!" :)

I loved the relationship they had, and I too felt more happy for him, that he was with his wife, than sad for me. But I will miss him at Conference time. Especially his humor.
