Yesterday

This is a good summary of my day yesterday. Marriage is hard. Parenting is hard. Combining them can be intricately complex. Some might say lethal. But not me.

This armadillo mom, however, would beg to differ. ( If she were, you know, alive.) I'm pretty sure she and her armadillo husband had just negotiated some activity and money issues with her teenage daughter. Once they had it settled, the armadillo daughter, instead of expressing her undying gratitude for all the leniency and kind cooperation, decided to ask for just one more thing. Which I'm pretty sure put this armadillo mom over the edge, and she lost it. I mean Lost It.

Which her armadillo husband really really hates.

So she spent her evening wandering around alone, wondering how she was going to try to pull it together and be an armadillo wife and mom even one more day.

It was all very dramatic, I'm sure.

If only she had lived to see the morning. Things might have looked better after she'd had some sleep.

Kind of.

It's too bad that armadillo's don't eat their young... that way they can't grow up to be so troublesome ;)

Most importantly the sun comes up the next day, no matter how hard the night seems, I do know that the sun comes in the morning. Sounds like the ultimate, ultimate bad hair day. We all love ya!!

Wow, you can feel the pathos in this post. The great blessing is the today is a new day. I so enjoy reading about you and yours.

Just avoid any line-painting trucks, and find yourself a nice tub of chocolate.

UGH!!! Dramatic teenage armadillo girls!
They go from puppies and rainbows to Armageddon in less than 2 seconds.

This is why Heavenly Father made babies so beautiful and precious...so at least we would have the good memories to pull us through suicide by line painting trucks kind of days :D

Wow, sounds like fun! Hope today is a little less lethal.

I'm sorry--let's go on a caribbean cruise ; ) I still think of that every time I come to read and comment.

Frankly I'm surprised the armadillo didn't have her teenage armadillo taped to the road.

Every day is better after a good night's sleep--thank goodness!!!

Lately my hubby and I have stopped negotiating about money issues. I just tell him we are spending all our money on a wedding and he keeps his mouth shut. Poor guy.

It sounds like a rough night in the Armadillo house. I hope today was a better day. *HUGS*

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and my kids are between the ages of 2 and 6 so some days I have lost it really bad.

To prepare for the teenage years,I've stocked up on a LOT of chocolate.

It's always amazing to me how tiny my problems seem at 7 am, compared to how leviathan they seem at 1 am :)

oh man -- I totally don't want my 10-year old to grow up! Or the others, either. Good grief. I do NOT look good in yellow paint.

Hey, I kind of feel like that armadillo right now. Except I would be more round and pancake-shaped if I were run over. Kind of like a blow/pufferfish, run over while it was expanded (exploded? puffed? fat?). Oh woe to the pufferfish and armadillos, the most maligned of creatures!!

Except don't touch the armadillo or you'll get LEPROSY.

This is the best comment ever. I demand you save it for all eternity.

Sometimes things look a lot different after a few hours of sleep. I sure have been there. Not fun at all!

Yesterday must have been the day for "losing it."
We've seen our share of "painted roadkill" over here this week.
I hope things are better for the armadillo mom today.

Why do husbands freak out at us when we freak out at the bambinos? Why can't we flip out together and be productive??

Funny post! I have a few armadillo children, and they've driven me to the edge of the white line more than once. Glad to see I'm not alone on the road!!

I think See's is about halfway between your house and mine. How does 12:30 sound?

Maybe if the armadillo mommy had her own blogging support group she would have reconsidered!

The only thing I might take from this is that as long as we're not the one lying there with the yellow lines painted on us, there's always hope.

I'm always just a bit more optimistic than the guy who coined the phrase "Life's hard, then you die!"

But I agree with you. So many things seem so tough. Let's keep clear of the highway, just to be safe :)

:( I'm sorry. my lovely comments about the situation probably didn't help. I fact, it probably set the whole thing off.

But I think your going a great job! and I'm sure its hard to raise the baby of the family with all the older siblings standing around saying things like 'HEY!! You never let ME do that when I was her age!' and whatnot. I'll work on that..

Thank you. This made me laugh when I really needed to, because, you know, I've been dealing with marriage and child issues all day. Perfect timing. Absolutely spot-on timing.

Love it! :)
