Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire

Denver is trying to set a record this week, but not in a good way. We're going for the record number of days in a row over 90 degrees, and if it continues through Thursday, we'll break a 100 year old record.
On the up side, we've never had so many tomatoes!

On the down side, though, I don't like being hot. (Which is completely different than being hott. Which I would really like to be.)

So how I ended up in Arizona in July is beyond me.

Anyway, knowing that I was going to be traveling this week I thought I'd be really blog savvy and line up some blog posts in advance to post on different days. Ahhh, such good intentions.

Realistically, I could have predicted that it wouldn't happen, but you and I both know that I pretty much live in my own little reality...where I enjoy eating key lime tarts with my BFF's Glenn Beck and the boat Captains from Deadliest Catch. And everything is clean and stays 73 degrees all the time. Oh, and no one ever contradicts me or even tells me that I'm not in my right mind. And most importantly, I planned ahead and all my blog posts are posting like clockwork every single day. Because that's the kind of fantasylife I lead sometimes. Forget mansions and diamonds, just make sure there are key lime tarts.

See you all in a few days!

Arizona? If you want temps in the 70's, you come to the Northwest. Try Portland, or Seattle. Cloudy in the morning this week, and sunny in the afternoon.
But seriously, have a good trip! Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.

Have fun! But, eh, if you're trying to escape the heat, aren't you headed in the wrong direction? :)

But is it a dry heat???

It's great that you can have those post publishing while you're gone.

Please tell me there is nothing wrong with living in our own little reality ; )

I hate being hot too, and you know I'm moving right into the middle of it, HELLO now talk about having your own little reality!

I could eat key lime anything. I don't know what that means...

But whatever. I love me some key lime.

Tips from an AZ native:

- Put you feet and hands in cold water

- Stay in the pool, lake, ditch etc

- Freeze bottles or bags of water and put one between your legs, one on your neck and one under each arm

- If your house is warm stay in the basement, mall, movies, library, church etc.

- Take your estrogen or soy to prevent hot flashes

- Put your hands and feet in cold water; add ice if needed

- Put a wet, light weight towel in front of a fan

- Keep your head wet

- Drink or eat something cold

- Crank down the AC and pay the extra $$$$

The other day my mother-in-law, Debbie, did the "Debbie Needs..." thing you did way back May before last(only with Debbie Needs...")It was the first time I'd ever seen it, so this morning, just for the heck of it I googled "Randi needs..." (because Randi is my name) and one of the first matches was your blog archive! So I thought I'd leave a comment. Anyway, I'm a fellow Randi- there aren't too terribly many of us out there. Not as many as, say, Debbies, right? Nice to meet you! Enjoyed your blog!

Yay For Vacay!

We hit triple digits this week in Houston in both temp. and humidity.

Yeah. You guys can try to beat us but you'll FAIL!

I actually found myself the other day wanting snow to come back. I'm dying in this 100 degree weather. But I must say, you have it worse in AZ. Been there that time of year it can be quite miserable.

Have a good time!

Ironically, I just got back from SE Alaska and they have had record lows. All July was 50's, maybe 60's. I packed two pairs of shorts and didn't wear them the whole month.

The weather just seems to be getting odder.
