Yo!
Ok, Seriously, is it just me? Or does everyone hate coming home from vacation. I mean, not the actual "Waaa, I have to go to back to my regular work" part. I'm talking about Mt. Washmore there in the laundry room, endless messages on the answering machine, and just general catching up from when you've been gone.
I guess maybe it IS just getting back to my regular work, after all.
Shut -up.
Arizona was a blast as always. It was hot there, but apparently it was hot here, too, so I don't feel like I really missed anything in that department. And in case you were wondering (Dillon6), yes Denver did break records, and by several days, too. The streak ended at 24 days IN A ROW of being 90 degrees or hotter. Now, I know that for lots of the country, you're thinking,
"Well, it is AUGUST, you goofball. What did you expect?"
But, see, here we're known for our moderate summer climate, not to mention our afternoon thunderstorms, which generally cool things off considerably. So we get used to things like not using our home A/C, and you know, touching the steering wheel in the car, and being able to leaving pop cans out in the sun without wondering how long till they'll turn atomic bomb. That kind of thing.
But I'm back, the birds are singing, the laundry is almost done, and I've made the executive decision to NOT try to read the 300+ posts logged into my googlereader. Sorry about that. But I do have to draw the line somewhere.
After all, in my insane school district there are only 3 days of summer vacation left, and I don't feel like I've really had summer yet. I've got to go eat a popsicle or something. You know, really celebrate the season before it's over.
(Why, yes, I am a party animal. Thanks for noticing.)

Yay, you're back!
Yay, I'm first!
We had the most beautiful Arizona rain/thunderstorm last night! ;)
Mt washmore?!?! You crack me up!
Hey! I was just camping out in a thunderstorm last night. It was scary. Because while I LOVE thunderstorms from my nice (somewhat) safe house, something about only have a thin layer of vinyl to protect me just isn't very comforting.
You should move here. School doesn't start until around memorial day (right? or is it labor day? the one in september). So you could still have three more weeks of having your kids running around driving you crazy. :-)
Whoo hoo! You're back! You've been muchly missed, chicka.
I just got back from two weeks myself. Odd but true, I love coming back and going through my mail--bills and all.
Good to have you back. My middle two are on year round school, so they have been in school for 2 weeks already. We don't get a good summer anymore. :-(
Yay! I missed you. You know, in that non-weird blog stalker sorta way. I think only 2 of those 300 are mine, so I won't be offended. ENJOY summer!
Our kids don't go back until after Labor Day, but they didn't get off school until the last day of June. We have some summer to go yet. Good luck summiting Mt. Washmore LOL!
I swear, the re-entry process is almost enough incentive to avoid the vacation in the first place. Good luck conquering that mountain!
Hey, so glad you're back! I had forgotton that you went on vacay and was wondering where the heck you got to.
I was really hoping it wasn't a hospital somewhere, and your family members weren't congregated in the waiting room pondering whether to take you off of life support.
Sorry, I have an active imagination.
Welcome home! I'm feeling your pain too. I just got back myself and my laundry is stacked pretty high.....and so much housework to be done before going back to work on Tues. Yikes!!
I love summer thunderstorms! We got major ones in New Mexico and I miss them here.
Sorry ya have to go back so soon. It seem like by August I'm finally into a summer groove. But school starts here the 25th so I'm working to get my kiddos from the 10 pm bedtime back to about 8:30.
i feel almost famous -- being mentioned in your blog is the highlight of my day -- no, wait. The OLYMPICS are on!
How can your school district go back to school when there are OLYMPICS to watch?! It's un-American, I tell you, un-American!!!
I visit MT. Washmore everytime I do laundry. Good times.
I'm so glad you're back--and that you had a wonderful vacation.
I can't believe school is already starting--summer has gone by way too quickly.
Great executive decision--that's using the brain (no, not that you're using "that" brain ; )
Sounds like we got home from vacation around the same time. But sneaky me, I did all our dirty laundry right before we left, so I just unpacked and put it away. :)
Such a refereshingly honest post! :) As with the other commenters, I love the Mt Washmore part! :)
Hope that by now its down to more of bump instead of a mountain!
