This Guy Rocks
I went to the LDS General Relief Society meeting last night, and I have to tell you, if you're looking for inspiration, here's the place to go. President Uchtdorf's talk was incredible, and all about finding happiness. (And that German accent is killer.)
If you missed it, go here. Just turn it on and listen while you do your dishes or something. It's completely worth the time.
PS - They don't have it broken down yet talk by talk, so this is the link for the whole meeting - which was great, but if you're looking for president Uchtdorf's talk, it starts at 55 minutes, and is about 23 minutes long. I promise, it's worth it.

I know what you mean. Less than 2 minutes into his talk, he had me totally and completely reeled in. I almost hate to admit it, but it's been a (long) while since I found myself that excited over a General R.S. Conference talk. It felt like he was talking directly to me.
I briefly thought about listening to it again right away... but since I'm east coast, the late hour won the argument. I think I'll be listening to it again soon, though.
He was really good, wasn't he? I laughed, I cried, I vowed to do better. What more could you ask for?
I made my husband listen to the talk tonight; you're right! It was just that good.
Loved the part about sharing the joy of creation with Heavenly Father. Totally took away the guilt from those of us who would rather craft than clean.
Loved all of the talks given. Sister Beck gave a great talk also. I like that Pres. Uchdorf told us to not undervalue ourselves...most women are so guilty of this. Love your blog! Come visit mine.... http://thedesertfleamarket.blogspot.com/
Grrr... I was sick. And not just a "gosh, I feel a tad icky" kind of sick. More of a "I can't be more than 5 feet away from a bathroom" kind of sick... I'll have to listen to it!
My favorite part - It's good to pray, it's better to be an answer to a prayer. I'm sure I'm not getting it right, but that really gave me something to think about, praying to be an answer to someone's prayer and then being in tune with the sprirt to follow those promptings.
HE WAS GREAT!!! I loved how he started his talk comparing the making of dinners! Thanks for the link!
I had to work yesterday and was bummed to miss the broadcast. Thanks for the reminder and I will definitely listen to his talk during some quiet moments tomorrow!
He was really good. But the best part was today in RS when we talked about the first Pres and the 12 and the Single sister teaching the lesson Said "Boy oh boy if he was single I'd move myself down to SLC." She was so cute!
You know I just really love all the talks But my Favorite was the Joy I saw on Sister Thompson Face. I could feel her love and Happiness.
His talk was FABULOUS.
I loved the part when he said: don't let criticism paralyze you. Whether that criticism comes from the inside or the outside.
(I was sooo missing Hinkley at the beginning of the meeting, but once I heard this talk, I felt so much better!)
I completely agree with you! His talk was absolutely incredible! :)
I totally dig Dieter. I have for a long time. I was really stoked to see him in the Presidency.
Maybe DW and I will listen tonight together for our scripture study.
I was SO HAPPY to hear him speak. It was exactly what I needed.
Plus, he's so flippin tan!
On Saturday night we loaded the family into the car to head to a friend's kid's birtday party...as we head past the church I said, "Wow! That's a whole lotta' cars at the church." And my husband said, "Yeah, isn't it the Women's Broadcast?"
I'm grateful for the internet so I can listen to it! I've heard from several that it was a great Conference!!
President Uchtdorf is so kind.
He wrote that talk just for me, and then let everyone else listen to it, too.
(smile)
I totally agree - the best talk ever! I can't wait to watch/read it again!
Thanks so much for the link. I didn't get to hear the talk (I live in Poland) and I keep reading about it everywhere. Now I will go and listen to it for myself! Thanks
(and just so you know, I love seeing you around on blogs I read, and I come here every now and again. I'll try to be better about leaving you a comment.)
I can't wait to hear the whole conference. Not sure I can listen to it now. I love hearing him talk.
absolutely randi! he made that night shine for me. i was having a hard time paying attention that night, but from the moment that he started speaking, i was on the edge of my seat and glued to his words. what a dear sweet inspired inspiration. redundant? hehe. so good, kathleen
