HairCapades

** This has turned into the ever-evolving post. Come back and see as I take suggestions and add them to the bottom of the post. **

When I started this post I thought it would be hilarious to put my face into celebrities' hairstyles and then publish the pictures side by side.
Can you believe that in practice that was not knee-slapping hilarious? It was more like incredibly pathetic. I need way more airbrushing than I can afford.

But still ...
I AM looking for a new hairstyle.

This is my " I spent all morning straightening my hair and then went tubing all day" look.

It's a complicated styling regimen. And I'm pretty much thinking I need to cut down on the time it takes - save time for blogging and whatnot.

THAT IS NOT A WART ON MY NOSE. I don't know what it is, but it is NOT A WART. Or a booger, either. But hey, now I can see how I'd look with a nose stud. Maybe a little diamondy one....
Moving on...

#1
This is what I look like with a little Reese Witherspoon pixie cut. I don't think I'll ever get a Reese Witherspoon pixie cut.

#2
You know, I've always thought Oprah does a really good job keeping her look current. She's gracefully trendy. And who wouldn't be with a wheelbarrow full of cash to spend on it, right?
Sheesh, you'd think she could afford a neck job, though, right? Oh wait, maybe that's me.

#3
I don't really know who Lisa Rhinna is, but I really liked her hair.

#4
Ok, Deborah Norville's hair looks way better on her than it does on me. But you get the idea. I like the flippyness.

#5
This is Dana Delaney's hair. I put it in purely for The Brain, who is a fan of longer hair with sort of a big sexy look.

#6
I can't remember who's hair this is. I started to put it in as a joke, but now I don't think it's super hideous...

And hey, if you have more hair you think I should try, shoot me a picture. Let's check it out!

It's a hands-on opinion poll today, people. So come out of the woodwork and tell me what you think. Unless what you think is not very nice, and then you should maybe stay in the woodwork where you belong.

I also thought the Teri Hatcher one was pretty funny!

Yes, my hair is thick and curly. And I'm still in denial about what color it is - -Or at least what direction it's taking.

I find Sarah Jessica Parker and Side-show-Bob equally scary.

Hey! This is the first time I remember seeing a picture of you! Thanks for that.

I like number 5. I'm like you, I love the flipping out look. I would love to have the Reese do but I don't think I could pull it off (plus I'd for sure have to dye my hair and I'm not ready to break my life long vow to never do it yet.)

Really, I think I like your hair in the very first picture. It looks more natural somehow. . .

I'm with Lisa--fun to see pictures of you!

As for an opinion on the cut--you're cute. You'd look good iwth a purple mohawk. I wish I had the guts to cut my hair short. I'm just too big of a wimp.

Yes, with the rest, we now have a face to go with the name/post!

What a great idea- cut and paste of face when choosing a new doo! I was debating on a crew cut yesterday, since everyday has been a bad hair day for 2 weeks now.

Your hair looks great now, but I know that is not the point - you want something new . . . hmmmm, Skip the Oprah look; the Lisa Rhinna look maybe??

Have fun!

I'm a fan of a little bit longer hair in general. I think the Deborah Norville look was pretty cute.

Oh my gosh, these are hilarious (not you of course, just the way you photoshopped your face in these pictures; I love it!)

Personally, I like #4. It's cute, trendy, and still sexy.

Let us know what you decide! (and if you find others, post them as well!)

I think when I first started reading your blog there was a picture of you on your sidebar, but that was quite a long time ago. You are darling and I love your hair. You look cute with the Lisa Rinna hair, too.

I like number 5, too. So is your hair curly, then? How 'bout a little SJP in your life?

Dave said...

#4 is cool.

You didn't mention if you wanted super cute with high maintenance, or pretty cute with low maintenance.

and becky is rite.

how curly is ur hair?

if it's like mine it frizzes into a complete afro. You could totally embrace that.

If I didn't have to look semi-professional, I'd go with the Sideshow Bob look.

//hotlinked

ps bonus points for posting your face photoshopped into Sideshow Bob :-)

I think I should get double bonus points because of the scary-ness of these picture.

Lisa Rhinna or Debra Norville definitely!

My vote is Deborah Norville or Dana Delaney.

I go with the Debra Norville look!

I vote for #3 or #4. I find getting the right cut isn't always the hard part, but learning how to style it when the stylist isn't in your bathroom doing it for you is the hard part!

Alison Wonderland said...

The pictures are fun, but I'm not onna lie to you, they're also kind of scary.

Ok! First of all LOVE the pictures! My vote is definitely #3! I think it is "in" and fun for the spring/summer, the coloring is great with your skin, and says look at me I'm one HOT momma! But, lots have voted for #4 I need to go back and look at that one one more time.

You need to get on that hairstyle website! I did it once and LOVED it. Hmm, maybe I should just give you my password...

And I liked Lisa Rhinna's too. I do NOT like her lips though. Just stick with the hair.

Dave said...

oh plz oh plz oh plz

NO Lisa Rhinna LIPS!!!1!!

<<shudders>>

tricki_nicki is VERY right.

I actually like the Debra Norville style the best on you...but not with the dark roots.
I am actually looking for a new hairstyle myself. I saw one I really liked on TV, paused it, and took a picture. I showed it to my daughter (who's 23) and she HaTed it. I don't know if she meant the style, or on me, or what. So. Be careful who you ask about what new hairstyle you should get! If YOU like it, get it! (I might still get the cut. I forgot that my daughter and I have vastly different tastes in stuff like this...)
:~D

I vote the Teri Hatcher look because it's proof that just in case the whole bakery thing doesn't work out, your future in reading tarot cards is very strong.

#4 looks the best.

Jillybean said...

I think you look cute in any of them (sideshow bob included)
I can't give actual advice to anyone regarding hairstyles because I can't even decide what to do to my own hair. Whenever I try to fix it, I just end up looking like a water buffalo.

mormonhermitmom said...

I liked #4, but then I liked your original picture too.

Maybe I'm not the one to ask though, because I'm oneof the "too busy to style" moms. Just the ponytail for now - until all the kids can get themselves off to school.

Dave said...

honestly, you could pull them all off. I'm leaning toward sjp

And, is that a nose ring I see? or just the warm CO sun glinting off of your nose :-)

LOVE number three, but four is good too. =)

I love seeing a picture of you. :)

I actually think the Deborah Norville one looks really good!

Fiauna said...

I like the Dana Delaney. But something tells me you could pull off any hair-do or don't. Even the cartoon guy thingy.

Heidi said...

Deborah Norville. Hep. You are darling, by the way.

Corrine said...

i really like the reese witherspoon hair cut!

Jen said...

Ha-ha! This is funny and the first picture I've ever seen of you! Nice to put a face with a blog. I'm looking for a new "do" too. It's the creative side of me coming out. I think you are beautiful and I think no matter what you pick, you will shine beautifully!

Lippy said...

I thought the Lisa Rhinna style was a nice fit, but I'd still vote for the "straightening and tubing" look!

joanna said...

I feel bad saying I've been slow keeping up with your blog, so I had 7 posts to read today!

I actually really like the Reese Witherspoon 'do on you, but you already look good with the hair you've got! Definitely don't go Oprah or Side-show Bob!

joanna said...

P.S. I am with Tricki Nicki and the others: Lisa Rinna has had waaaaaay too much plastic surgery!! But her hair is OK. :)

beckers said...

Yeah, Debra Norville is good, but I think that Dana Delaney is more you. Just my thoughts....
