Dumb, But Really Scary Things That Scare Me

Knowing there was a spider right there before I left the room to get a tissue, and now I'm back and it's not there and I can't find it and it's time to turn off the lights and go to bed.

I actually get scared of being scared of heights. Because I'm not always scared of heights, but I get so nervous that I might be, that it makes me a little dizzy, which is even scarier when I'm by the heights, which I wasn't really that scared of in the first place.

Opening my google reader after not being on my computer for 6 days. I love reading people's posts, but the thought of trying to catch up with however many hundreds of unread posts are out there is worse than the thought of spiders ON LADDERS, and has actually made me postpone getting online a few extra days.

See? Dumb... but scary!

Sadly I'll have to wipe that slate clean and start fresh.

... which is a better deal than I'm going to get from the spiders.

I get scared of the idea of fainting, so I know what you mean! You psych yourself into it!

You're so cute. You might be afraid of heights. There's something to lose sleep over. :) (not to say that it's not a serious problem, of course. . .)

It's so nice to have you back!

I know what you mean on the reader thing. Posts are fun to read---but when I feel like I have to get a bunch read...it takes the fun out.

I always imagine that there's somebody downstairs when I'm upstairs, or upstairs when I'm downstairs. It's especially ridiculous when we have things that chime when any window or door is opened. And because I live in one of the safest places in the US. Whatever.
But the height thing I get. Totally psychological. lol.

I have to say that there is no scarier feeling that wondering where that dang spider went to! I wouldn't be able to sleep! I think I'd have to go out and sleep on the couch...

Scared on not, welcome back to the blogworld! (And what's the quote - "There's nothing to fear but fear itself"?

I am with you on the spider thing. It always seems to be those big ones that can go really fast that get away!
I wouldn't worry about catching up, everyone takes a break. I know I just did.
I like to remember to not get so caught up in updating my blog that I forget to live my life!

oh, and it's really best to ease back into reading posts after a vacation.

leave em unread for a while. eventually, you'll catch up

the fb status updates always racks up your count, so just mark all those as read.

You are so funny! I'm laughing with you by the way.

I'm right there with ya, lady. A full week of bloggy vacation is rather daunting.

You don't have to read mine. I didn't say anything all that cool anyway. There - one less for you to do!

I HATE spiders! Especially those wearing clown suits flying on birds!

Umm...that story reminds me of the other night when I saw a cockroach in my bathroom drawer and screamed and ran from the room to get Ted, and when he got in there to get it, it was gone! Talk about a sleepless night.

I anticipate getting scared of heights too...it's horrible.

This one time last summer there was a giant (and I do mean giant) spider in my car. I saw it crawl down the dash and under the passenger seat. Only problem was that I was on the freeway.

I insisted on leaving the car parked out of the garage for the rest of the day because if that kind of heat can kill a human, I hoped it would kill a spider too. My husband thought I was insane. I never did find a spider body, I don't think, and it still freaks me out.

But the Google reader thing is the scariest. I had no idea it just tells you 1000+ once it's over 1000. And I was scrolling through and through and it never got below 100 so I just forgot about it. so I'm glad you did that. Frightening stuff.

Some things are just plain scary.

I'm trying to debate the whole google reader thing, too. Seriously considering shutting down the whole blog thing. Starting to feel overwhelmed. Maybe just too much going on right now.

I'm afraid of driving in the car in the middle of nowhere and having to go to the bathroom.

And now I'm afraid of Google reader.

This is why I firmly believe in pointing and screaming at spiders until someone else goes and gets something to kill them with. And also why I believe in random commenting, then no one knows if you've read all their stuff or not, and then if you haven't -you know, because of a vacation- they won't know the difference.

I think I might be afraid of heights, too. It seems like a rational fear.

I hate spiders! I really really do. They are just creepy. I have a friend who will stop the car in the middle of the highway to collect a tarantula to bring it home. I don't ride with her anymore.

Thanks for the birthday love, Miss Randi! I've missed you, but I didn't think I'd hear from you. Thanks for making my birthday more special!

I am terrified of basements. Seriously. Like pee-my-pants scared if I have to go down there at night.
That and not getting a single comment on a new blog post. That's the stuff horror movies thrive on.

I don't like the spiders either. But at least they aren't as bad as moths. I'm terrified of moths.
