Nope. The Crazy is All Mine

So yesterday during Sunday School, we were discussing different ways of dispelling some of the crazy ideas people have about Mormons and the practices of the LDS church.
Someone mentioned my blog as an example of communicating to the world that Mormons are regular normal people.

I know, obviously not a regular reader, right?

Because I am all kinds of weird. But it's not because I'm a Mormon. Nope my crazy comes to me all by itself. In fact, if anything the Mormonism grounds me.

But I guess the blog is a good way to say hey, I don't have horns, I don't practice polygamy, and I very much believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and consider myself a very strong christian. I try to live my life with a moral code - like most people I know, no matter what their religion.

(Hey, in case I forgot to mention it before, Mormons don't have horns, they get excommunicated if they are polygamists, and have very personal feelings about Jesus Christ being the Savior of all mankind.)

So I guess my point is: I'm happy to answer - or help you find answers- to any questions you might have about Mormons! Just email me and we'll look at it together.

But if we're picking a poster child for "normal" we may want to look elsewhere.

I'm just sayin'.

I think you're a great example!

I've actually had several non-members email me over the course of my blog, because they feel I won't judge them, or hit them over the head with my religion.

I think that you can still be an example without bearing your testimony in every post.

You are totally normal.

I have learned so much about your faith and want to learn more! I have never that about anyone being abnormal. Every faith has a few crazies! But the bloggers that I read who are LDS, are a great testiment to their faith!

I was actually thinking yesterday about writing a blog post just like this. But thank you for beating me to it! This was really a great post.

So if you're crazy, that must make me certifiable....

My horns are under the hood of my car.

Umm, Missy appears to be a golden contact right here in the comments, I say here's your chance! I personally shy away from missionary work in case anyone asks about my sons. The daughters are great, it's the sons that show a little lack of greatness. But you go girl!

Crazy is best. Without a little bit of crazy, we're just boring people.

Mormons... good. Polygamy... bad. Really, what else do you need to know? :)

And for the record, a little crazy is always a good thing.

New friend passing through, but I like your blog so I will be back!

There are all kinds of Mormons, take me for instance I do have horns (oh wait that was just my crazy hat!!) seriously just because you are LDS does not mean you have to fit in a certain mold. It takes all kinds, even in this church - hee hee. I think it makes people feel more comfortable to see someone "real" anyway!!

I like your kind of crazy :-) It makes Mormons "real" people instead of packaged goodie-goodies.

We don't have horns? All this time I thought mine were the side effect of Mormonism. CRAP!

You are totally normal.

ahh, what does normal mean, anyway? As long as you don't harm anyone, break any laws or commandments, and are good to yourself, your family, and other people, your kind of normal is Just Fine!
