Just Keep it Coming!

Here's where we are this morning!

survey says!:

Yeah I think that's pretty accurate.  They're telling us only 4-8" more.

The mountain suburbs are getting a little more.

I talked The Brain into working from home today, because the roads are just too slick.

Can you believe he vetoed my idea of celebrating at Krispy Kreme?  I suppose if I want to go to Sonic later I'm going to have to sneak out.  It seems that in this case, forgiveness is going to be way easier than permission.  Especially if I bring him a vanilla rootbeer.

(I'm probably not going to start a new post today... but I may continue to add to this one if I have any updates.  So check back if you're interested.)

**10:30 update**

When I measured at 10:30 it was 22 inches.  I couldn't make the ruler stand on top of the other one, but I left it out there anyway so it would have a friend.  Also so I would know where it is, because things like rulers and scissors and pencils with useable erasers seem to disappear around here pret-ty fast.

Hannah decided to invent her own snowblower, which surprisingly didn't work as well as you might have thought.     I think she is now relying on the guy across the street to see her patheticness and come use his snowblower to get her part of the shoveling done.

As punishment for saying she could go in to work today, (who does that??) Lizzie had to clean off the truck and warm it up so I could drive her over.   I took a picture, but was threatened with some very vague and mysterious retribution if I posted it.  So just know that I have it, and will post it if necessary.

Afternoon snow fort

and snow fight!

And here's the last picture of the night.  I think there's actually about an inch more than the last picture, but it looks pretty much the same.

We ended the day by making Mandarin Chicken and brown rice, and a mandatory viewing of:

All in all a glorious day.

With that much snow, you can't SNEAK out--there will always be EVIDENCE ; )

I'll be checking back because I'M ALWAYS INTERESTED--but obviously not very interesting.

Your plan is a good one.

I always hope to hear a blizzard in Utah Valley so I can keep my husband home with me all day while he tries to to work from home. :) In this dream the power doesn't go out and we have plenty to eat. And it's actually a good time. :) Stupid Utah storms are never bad enough!

I would say I'm jealous, but with halloween coming I wouldn't want to deprive my children of the opportunity to go door-to-door begging strangers for candy.

I'll be checking back. . . I love live snow news coverage.

That's more snow than I've seen in 20 years! Jealous--but I'm one of those people who like to watch it snow, but want it gone the next day, so I'll stay here and appreciate your updates and photos.

We're getting snow too--although not nearly THAT bad.

But the wind is killing us. Our neighbor has this huge tree and lost half of it yesterday--just cracked right off in the wind. I'm picking up my two kids who usually walk home from school because the wind chill is so bad (that, and I can see my first grader blowing away . . .).

And my older two (who I always pick up because the jr high is too far to walk from) I told to wait for me INSIDE the building so they don't freeze to death.

Wow... that's a lot of snow! Just out of curiosity... what is the average snowfall for your area?

so glad your ruler has a friend. cold is bad enough, but cold and lonely is awful.

and i think the picture is certainly necessary.

tell hannah to keep with the ideas. maybe she'll invent some genius contraption and be a millionaire.

Ah, man. I miss living in Evergreen. I hate the piddly little snowstorms we get here in Utah. I mean, if you have to put up with snow, it might as well be epic snow.

I'm so homesick!!! When the kids and I went running this morning we could actually see our breath. I know, sounds lame, but it's kinda monumental for AZ.

We just got a skiff of snow this am. Just enough to get my girls motivated into helping me finish stacking the wood. Stay warm!

I've never seen that much snow before. I think I got to see 9 inches visiting Utah one year, but that was it. I don't think I'd know how to function.

We had our do nothing day Wednesday and we didn't leave the house so today (Thursday) we bundled up and went to Wal-mart for "snowed in food". We than went to the zoo. It was great, we pretty much had the zoo to ourselves (except for the animals of course). Would you believe the last time the zoo was closed was two years ago when we had that really bad storm in march? When we left the zoo we went to Sam Taylors for some kick'in bar-b-q. I love Sam Taylors, best ribs this side of KC. It was a great day.

I just started reading you a couple weeks ago and I now know that it was fate. I absolutely LOVE Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. One of the best movies ever made.

Loving your snow updates! A teensy bit jealous, because I love snow. Crossing my fingers for a white winter although that's unlikely here in the Pacific Northwest.
