Things That Will Not Remove A Melted Hot Glue Stick From Your Dryer Drum

  1. Turning on the dryer and wiping with a cloth
  2. Turning on the dryer, and then picking off the glue with your fingernails.  (this method will however, successfully remove your fingernails)
  3. Hair dryer with a cloth
  4. Hair dryer with a metal spatula

What finally did the trick?

WD40 and a rag

Now I just have to figure out how to remove the WD40.

oh, and also?  If you're more or less crawled inside the dryer to clean the back of it? and you support yourself with one hand on the side (of the inside) of the dryer?  Chances are you will find yourself rolling completely over.

Just a little tip there.

WD40 burns pretty fast and clean. just light it, and keep a close eye on it. you don't want to melt the paint on your dryer.

oh, and fyi...

did you ever see the America's Funniest Home Videos where a guy, or girl, is stuck in a dryer/dishwasher/space between the toilet and the bath tub? And the spouse, instead of helping, would go get a camcorder to chronicle the hilarity (and hysterics)?

I would be that spouse. Cause nothing says funny like a half-roll and a shriek coming from the dryer :-)

Oh no! So sorry. Why was a glue gun stick in someone's pocket is my own only question?

So this begs the question: How did the glue stick even get there?

But thanks for the tips; I'll follow them the next (first?) time this occurs.

I just laughed at laughed. Then I felt bad for laughing at your difficulty. Then I got over that and laughed some more!

Can I comment on a commentor?
I'm assuming that's a yes. Um Dave, is this your role in life? Being first? Just asking.

Ugh, this post was painful until I visualized someone's rump rolling around in their drying and then I felt better.

My boss likes to tell me useless pieces of trivia and he's got a good 10 minutes of pie-hole diarrhrea on the topic of WD40 and I just heard all of it in my head just now.

role -- no

I don't know... I kind of like watching Dave's competition with himself.
I always wonder if he's going to win!

Why did you put a glue stick in your dryer?

And WD40 will remove crayon from a wall.

WD-40 is right there with Duct Tape--what did we do before we had them both.

I think The Brain should have been there with his camera. (I know I'M MEAN!!!)

eighteenth!!!!

why, now that you mention it, sometimes I can be a little competitive...

Too funny!!! I'm so glad you got it all taken care of!

Sheesh!!! And I thought removing crayon from the dryer was bad!

So now your clothes won't squeek? I wonder if it would take the rumph rumph sound out of corderoy slacks?
Does anybody wear corderoy anymore?
did tie die make a full comeback or is it just a click thing?
Have I strayed from the topic?
What was the topic?
So many questions so little time.

Have you tried rubbing alcohol on the WD40?

The mad woman behind the blog said...

Okay, now I want to know how you got the WD 40 out of the dryer.

And to apologize to you and Dave, I so did not mean at all to sound so snarky!

Santa just switched me to another list.....oh wait, I was probably on the bad girl list already.

Marm said...

Oh, the horror of accidents in the washer and/or dryer; I could write a book. So, no, it's not just you.
