I Am NOT Pregnant.

I'm fine. completely and totally fine.
I'm sorry if I sounded dark and bleak yesterday. I was going for reserved and vague. I should know by now that I'm not good at vague. I'm much better at laying my cards all over the table and saying "hey! - here it is..."

So, Hey! Here it is:
I am fine.  Good even.
I just have those blahs that we all get. (tell me we all get them!)  The ones where I have tons of things that I should do, but nothing that I want to do.  It's a motivational issue for me, and nothing more.  I didn't want to drag people down for no reason, and I really didn't want sympathy comments.  But if the comments had been turned on, my friend Dave made a graph that completely cracked me up to show what they would have looked like:

So for all of you who were guessing pregnant - umm that would be a no.

And a quick thank-you to my friends who sent emails. I'm sorry that I concerned you for no good reason.

But if I HAD been pregnant, it would have taken a LOT more than sending prayers and emails for me to feel better.

A LOT.

I'm just sayin'.

It's a Moving Target

So far, being an entrepreneur is even harder than I thought.

I've spent the last year+ working on the loans, plans, permissions, licenses, and anything else you can think of to make this bakery cafe thing take off. And then 4 weeks ago when finally FINALLY we had all our little ducks lined up in a row, the bank called to say
Yeah, about that loan. The good news? You've finally been approved! The bad news? It's just that we now have NO MONEY to lend you. NONE.
Well, ok then.

So we set out to find another bank. We've been completely approved by the SBA and other government entities. We just need a private bank - you know, one that has money - that is willing to partner with the government to make it happen. (yeah, wish me luck there...)

As it turns out, this is not a particularly good time in economic history to get a loan for a start-up business.

Who knew?

And so here we (and the 22 jobs we'd like to create) sit, waiting for something to break loose.

Something besides my brain, I mean.
