1. I don't have a favorite dessert. How could I choose? My favorite thing is to try something new.
2. My celebrity BFF is Glenn Beck.
3. I hate it when people use the word hysterical when they mean hilarious. It's like fingernails on a blackboard to me.

Seriously, even if you're normally a lurker!
Come on - you know you want to!

So hysterical!! (ha ha)
Its fun to see how much we have in common. I was actually a little shocked that you don't keep in contact with old friends, I thought you'd be a shoe in for that. AND Amen to the candy corn!!
Okay, it would take me forever to list the things we have in common. I was surprised though that we both eat oatmeal in the cool months, and shredded wheat in the warm. Mmmm....fibre...
So neat to get to know more about you! I think you're fab-ewe-luss!
Ok, I love Amazing Race too....what do they have on instead this fall? Viva Laughling? Like we need another TV show set in a casino.
I need more PHIL!
I give it 3 weeks and then we will have our AR back! YAYAYAYAYAAA!
Oh, and Glenn Beck is my BFF too! Love him.
Ok so I was a pom in high school too! I went to Littleton high--I'm assuming you grew up on CO. I can't believe you don't like banana flavored things--I LOVE banana flavored stuff more than real banana's. Oh and I totally get the whole can't-relax-til-the-sink-is-clean thing. Drives my husband up the wall.
I definitely connected on a number of your 100 things, but others were polar opposites. Some of my thoughts:
1) Can't see how you love desserts, but your favorite drink is DIET Coke based? (Gag!)
2) But LOVE Sonic Rt 44s. Just had one Saturday. Strawberry Slush. Yummm!
2) Common misuses (or mis-spellings) of words stick in my craw too!
3) Good luck on the marathon! I've done 8. May or may not do another as I've sucked, errr rather stunk at all of the them.
4) I have similar feelings on foul language, but the occasional 'sucks' slips out.
5) "I have a teaching degree, but no plans to go back into the classroom full-time." Ditto here. Taught 3 yrs. That was enough.
6) Dehydration from heat/running gives me migraines too, but don't have much trouble with body temp.
7) Fall is my favorite too. Spring least.
8) I'm a terrible communicator with college/HS friends, but ironically built a website for our 20 yr hs reunion that IMHO is pretty cool and was a lot of fun.
9)Despise s'mores, but will take the marshmallow.
10) Infinite Campus. Hmmm. Almost ended up working for them. Now they are a competitor. I guess so,... with all your teenagers.
11) Orange juice is on the top of my list of generics not to buy. I think they must include the peel and all.
12) I always eat oatmeal, and just rediscovered how much I like shredded wheat in the last two weeks. I have now bought two boxes. Love the big bicuits.
13) Fruitcake is good stuff.
14) I enjoy Glenn Beck, but don't catch him much as most of my media time comes via radio or internet.
15) I've never been able to drink a cup of coffee or a glass of muddy water. I don't think would be more inclined to drink one than the other. But love a good cup of tea!
Oh my word, Randi....hmmm I think that Heather and you and I have the same two things in common as well as many others. I'm trying to nail Cajun Man down for another Temple Trip. We'll try to give you more notice next time.
Heather - I may go hysterical if you do that again!
Kimberly- THANKS!!
EOE- Can you believe they only renewed it for the 2dn half of the season? Stupid Kid Nation.
Miggy- how funny! I went to Evergreen.
Matt- wow! (and welcome to the blog, btw!) See, the reason I can try the different desserts is BECAUSE of the diet coke. I haven't just had 44 oz of sugar...
and I say "sucks" all the time.(not that I should) It's the hard core stuff that bothers me.
And Steph- Yay for candy corn! Yes lmk when you'll be in town!
As soon as you said you couldn't relax until your sink was clean, I knew you were a flylady disciple. I tried it, but it didn't work for me, because I'm lazy.
OK, here goes - longest comment ever.
I played the flute for several years, too. Still do.
I dislike country decorating, too, love Pottery Barn.
I, too, live for autumn.
I like cleaning but not the clutter.
I've read the BoM all the way through several times. I'm currently working on the NT, and am close. I actually DID do the OT last year.
I can't keep plants alive, either.
I hate Nicholas Sparks books...but I LOVE musical soundtracks. 99% of the CD's I buy are soundtracks (which means I have one that isn't).
Generic OJ is evil, as is generic laundry soap.
I love banana flavored things. Especially mixed with chocolate. mmmmm.....
I am married to the best computer guy ever. Hence I stopped learning computer things 11 years ago.
I love Postum, and have just bought the coffee flavored kind, because I love the smell of coffee, too. Haven't actually tried it, yet, though, it's still too hot here.
So there you go. Tai Pan has wonderful fake plants that look real. I've actually had people water them when they were watching my dog while I was out of town because they were worried.
So, do you eat your potatoes and tapioca together?? My Hubby wants to start a chain "Postum" shops. He thinks it would sell big in Utah and Southern Idaho ;)
Love the list--I've visited before but never commented. I could say a lot of those same things. Wish I could say #67--I could never sing that well.
Being an early morning seminary teacher definitely #93, and 94.
WIZ- Oh, for a Tai Pan! I LOVE that place!
Melissa- I agree with your husband! I'd stop in all the time. Well, not if they were only in UT and ID. But bring one to Denver, and I'm there!
And on you're other question- um, NO.
Yvonne-
Thanks for stopping by!! And as for #67, well, I wish I still did!
Loved the post!! I have to say that I was shocked about the chocolate vs licorice thing. I definitely prefer chocolate. Unless it's wax/chocolate. Then I'll go for the licorice....but I like the chocolate kind. I know, I know.....I ramble. :)
Hi Randi! Congratulations on your 100th post! I enjoyed reading your "100 things" list.
I'm surprised you don't consider yourself an athlete, after finishing 3 marathons you should!
I love all things Diet Coke (but I've never been to a Sonic), hate horror movies, and like to get up early.
Just because of this list I went out to Sonic yesterday and ordered your favorite drink because it sounded so good. In the words of Rachel Ray, "Yum-O!" So good. Do I get some kind of "Most Dedicated Reader" award or something?
BOS
hi randi:
totally loved reading this post and finding out even more about you. we have a lot in common.
you most surprised me that you think you don't keep in touch with people very well.
ok, some of the things in common include ... hate the bananas, i manipulate the post time sometimes/often don't know why i do, love mashed potatoes, we are overprotective parents to a point too, i also believe that when you lose yourself in the service of others ... , and my BFF is really God too.
i love hearing from you -- your notes and emails make me smile :)
so enjoyed your 100 things randi, thanks, kathleen :)
one more thing randi:
i am so with you on the not wanting to be around people who are slamming others. i don't get that. it's just mean and i don't want a part of it and i don't want to hear it either. glad to hear we agree on that core principle.
you are awesome girl,
so admire you,
kathleen
#35 I finally decided to give my self a break on this one. Ahh, guilt be gone. #90 To warm up I sometimes have to take an "emergency bath" ....and turn on the heater, and drink a warm beverage, and use the heating pad, and put my cold toes on my toasty man. Heat can be bad too, but not as bad as cold. Glenn Beck, Amazing Race, candy corn & Postum "Can I have some more please?"
So.... You really dont like blue huh? is that some kind of casual way of saying that you dont really like me? because... WE painted my ENTIRE room blue!! YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING!! honestly.... You are one CRAZY Mommy. But thats why i LOVE you
Karmel Sutra is THE best ice cream in the world. I ran 3 triathlons this summer, but don't consider myself "an athlete" either. I'm also terrible at keeping up relationships. A friend of mine was moving to another city 10 minutes away and couldn't understand why I was even upset about it. She said, "It's just 10 minutes away!" and I said, "We'll never see eachother again!" (only 1/2 kidding because that is what happens with me.)
Nothing really surprised me because I don't actually know you! But it IS surprising when anyone says they like fruitcake. Or candy corn for that matter. And I have no idea what Postum is, but I feel like it's probably something Mormonish, and I should know it....
I love the toasted marshmallow so much more than a s'more, myself. Do you happen to like to burn your marshmallows, sometimes, and just pull of the burnt part and eat it?
I also love my crocs to death. I wish they were a bit more attractive, because I can hardly live without them now!!
You're in Colorado? I lived in the Boulder area for almost 4 years with my husband, and my in-laws still live there. We desperately want to move back to Colorado - it's so wonderful there! We're all the way over in Maryland, and have been for almost 5 years.
I'm not much of a blog lurker so I try to avoid reading blogs of people I don't know, but I totally enjoyed reading your 100 things. Contrary to your bio, I think you are a writer. I grew up in CO, did you go to Arapahoe? You don't have to say if you don't want to.
One of many things I agree with--misuse of words, like: "We literally laughed our heads off!"
or the tragic ways "ironic" is used.
I love fruitcake and autumn too!
Coulnd't stand getting up at 3, but can stay up to 3 regularly. Love the list!
This is the first time I've visited your blog. I LOVE it. I wish you were older and lived in San Diego. We'd be outrageous friends. Like some of the others, we have lots in common and are polar opposites on others. I Christmas shop early too but I pretend like Thanksgiving is Christmas and I have all my gifts purchased and wrapped by Thanksgiving. Then I can enjoy December and am able to participate in any charitabale projects that arise. Unlike you, I LOVE to shop for anybody, anytime. And, I'd rather stay up until 3:00 a.m. than get up at that hour. Read my blogs at: nobodycareswhatthisoldgeezerthinks.blogspot.com
You said you live for comments- so I am posting.
I love this idea 100 things...
I too understand more spanish than I can speak-- I've been trying to learn it for years but still can only speak in present tense!
I'm a flybaby.
I use to sell Mary Kay- what was I thinking? I was horrible at it.
I grew up back east- and LOVE fall. That is what I miss the most about living in Hawaii.
and I don't like chocolate.
I like fruit cake, too. My Granny makes the best.
I'd much rather stay up till 3am than get up at 3am.
I've read the New Testament, too. It's my favorite of the Standard Works (call me a heathen- I like it more than the Book of Mormon).
I can't sit by you. I never have anything nice to say about anyone.
I also hate banana flavored anything. But I do like bananas.
I love the smell of coffee, but hate the taste. It's very bitter. You might think you'd like it, but it's kind of like an orange- it may smell good, but the peel tastes awful!
Nertz is awesome!
I love video games!
It was fun to get to know you!
I'm sorry hysterical bothers you because sometimes I'm hysterical. Really. But candy corn was ALWAYS my favorite until I found that candy pumpkins tasted better and then they made my joints hurt and so now I just look at all of them with longing but leave them in the store. I obviously don't use comma's in the right places or sometimes at all.
I had to snicker at item #90 as I sit in my bed with my laptop, with a heating pad, wearing a beanie. I'm cold, cold, cold. And it's probably at least 70 degrees inside my house. I'm enjoying my first visit to your blog!
Hey, I came over to your blog from Lisa's in Poland. Your list is really funny, and we have quite a bit in common. Where do you live in Denver? I'm in Centennial/Aurora/Unincorporated Arapahoe County.
I laughed out loud at the computer geek husband part because I am the exact same way. It is way faster to ask him to fix it than to try and learn how to do it myself. Thanks for the laughs!
Fun post! I start my Christmas shopping at post Christmas sales. I hate fighting crowds during December to shop.
You and I really are friends,
We could get together with our spouses there, eat fruitcake and watch Glenn beck; Love fruitcake and GB.
I've been reading for so long I can't remember how I found you but you are lots of fun! I did 100 things too.....not an easy task especially since I didn't realize it "should" be tied to a 100th post...now I am feeling the need to edit! come visit.....http://yoursminenours.blogspot.com/search/label/100%20things
