Parent /Torture Conferences

Is there any way we could spread the parent/teacher conferences out over more weeks, or even months?
Because 2 days this week, and 2 days next week just doesn't satisfy my need to obsessively worry about my children and what their teachers will reveal about their secret alter egos for, you know, the extended period of time I was hoping for.

I don't know why it's so uncomfortable for me to sit across from a person who wants to tell me things I don't know about my children. Especially when my children are great - and the teachers have many many good things to say.

But it is.

This is just another reason to home school. Parent/Teacher conferences would ROCK.

Thank goodness I don't have people in school yet. . .It's bad enough what with the primary teachers telling me that we had yet another metl-down. . .I so have (in hushed whispers) THAT KID

Just don't go. Actually I'm kidding!

As long as you don't have the kind of kids teachers talk about in the lunch room. You know those are the ones all the teachers cringe about.

Vickie took her class on a field trip a few years ago, and this one kid could ONLY come if he had a parent to supervise him. The Mom was part way through the field trip and Vickie heard the Mom say, "I don't LIKE how all of the teachers know my kid's name......."

I really don't get why we have to go. I went for my daughter, and the teacher was like, "Your daughter is the kind of child every teacher would like to have." She said maybe three words about her great reading ability and then she just sat there and stared at me. I was like, um, are we done or something? I was waiting for her to excuse me. So awkward.

Of course, when Jake gets in school, it's gonna be a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. "Please sit down, we have a lot to talk about."
