Newish Old Friends

Yesterday I got to meet my blogging buddy Stephanette! She is as amazing in person as she is on her blog. The Brain and I met Stephanette and Cajun Man for lunch as they were on their way through town to go to a wedding.
Internet relationships are funny, aren't they? Even though we'd never met in person, we felt like we'd known each other forever, and had plenty to talk about.

You'll be happy to know that some portion of The Brain's discomfort about meeting People From The Internet was put to rest. S and CM received the highest compliment:
"Hey~! They were just like normal people!"
So there you have it - elevated not only from Imaginary to Real, but also "like NORMAL".

Congratulations to you both!

Aaaack! I'm so nervous to meet internet friends. A few people have wanted to get together and I just cannot make myself do it. I'm afraid we'd just end up sitting there staring at each other awkwardly. Eeeeek.

Neil felt a bit better after he met one of my imaginary friends for the first time. He's been more supportive since then. Silly boy.

I think that is so great that you got to REALLY meet one of your blogging buds. Glad it was a great experience.

I too would love to step out of the 'imaginary' realm myself. I've met one blog friend and hope to meet others. Because seriously, some of these people I would totally be friends with if we weren't separated by hundreds of miles. If I'm ever in your town randi.......

One more comment-I am LDS, and substitute teach, and one day, when I'm married, I hope so much to be the kind of wife my husband LOVES to come home too.

Just noticed those on your profile and had to add my comment. ;)

Ooooh, I wish I could meet some of my blogger friends. You are lucky. And to be honest, even if you didn't like each other, at least you don't ever have to get together again. It's not like you're in the same ward . . .

Well, what do boys know anyway? I'm glad you had fun. You can never have too many friends, internet or not.

I've wondered what it would be like to meet some of the people I visit online. I'm glad it was a good experience for you.

And I'm assuming you are the one on the left, with the curly hair?! I like it!

Hooray for bloggy meet-ups! It sounds so fun, and it's awesome that the husbands came along! :)

My hubby actually listens and remembers when I tell him a little bit about my bloggy friends...a LITTLE BIT, mind you...such as this one in Colorado, or that one in Canada, or Texas, or Oklahoma...or New Zealand! :D

Wanna know what's funny?
When I see you avatar on other people's blogs and THEN read your name I think "Wait, JustRandi has a chicken...not a wand".

I do that every single time.
DUH!!

morning randi,
i am not surprised at all that you totally enjoyed yourself and felt comfy in person with one of your internet friends. glad for you, too.

the other day, i was really pleased because one of my favorite bloggy friends called me (for the first time) and talking with her felt completely normal, like we had been talking for a long time already. it didn't even seem weird, just felt like i was talking to my dear friend, and we were just CONTINUING our conversation. and it was so fun to hear us laughing together -- our voices. i talk with some of my bloggy friends more and more often than some of my other friends. can't help it. there is a neat connection with my favorites, so i understand why you felt comfy in person here with her.

not fake,
kathleen xoxo

ps. rand, thanks for being such a sweetheart of a friend to me hon. you totally rock my dear :)

Yeah! You mean we're REAL and NORMAL! You guys ROCK!

We had so much fun...Cajun Man says it's a MUST to get together again when we come to visit again.

We'll bring Gilmore Girls and the Wii!

How Fun! I would like to meet some of my bloggy friends eventually. I never thought I would want to, but when you read about everyone's lives everyday, it just seems natural to want to meet.
