Last Night's Dinner

alternate title:
What NOT to Cook

Garlic Veggie Bake looked so good on paper.

But seriously? You know it's bad when my kids are picking out the onions as the GOOD PART.

No need to worry about hurting my feelings in the comments.
It smelled good, tasted bad, and looked really really ugly.

Hmmmm.... It does look a little weird, but not horrid. It was really that gross, huh?? That stinks when you put time into something and it doesn't pan out.

I'm sorry your dish didn't turn out.

I hate when those things happen. I made a skillet taco bake once...I swear I have now tasted evil.

i was going to say that it doesn't look very good...sorry it didn't work out...thats why i try to stay away from healthy baked things :)

Not the most appetizing looking dish I've ever seen, no...

ummm, yah... doesn't look appetizing. did you like it, though?

i left you a comment on your post on 13 year olds and boyfriends. stumbled across your blog through two different sources and enjoyed my visit.

That's weird because it actually sounds pretty good. I'm sorry it didn't work out :( But hey, now you know not to make it again right? :)

That's a great visual.

I love that you can poke fun at yourself. Live and learn, right?

I've been dieting to long because it looks DELICIOUS!

Wellllll you dish looks exactly what Doran would LOVE to eat. He likes harvest time where he cooks up some squash (yuck), adds onions and tomatoes and then tops it off with 10 pounds of cheese. Ok maybe not that much cheese. So are you saying that is not a makeagainer at your house?

Is that spinach? I can't tell.

Sorry you put effort into a crap dinner. I hate when I do that.

The Wiz said...

So the green stuff is spinach? Yes?

That's one way to lose weight, I guess.

I get way depressed when new stuff doesn't turn out well. I take it very personally.

Randi said...

Yeah, its zucchini, yellow squash, spinach, onions, garlic, several spices, olive oil, and a boatload of Parmesan cheese over the top.

It was just weird.

I guess when you experiment with new recipes you just sometimes hit a bad one.

I don't take it too personally.

LOL! This made me laugh. I hat it when I try something new and have to say to my dh "If it doesn't taste good, we can always order pizza..."

Where's the beef? j/k

Soooo, I guess you know what to take to your next RS Dinner...? Sorry. Couldn't help it.

Oh dear. Well, um, at least they liked the onions? Or something?

It's a bummer how many things look good on paper but don't pan out in real life.

You'll get em next time.

Wow! That does look really sick, sorry It sounds like it should be wonderful, however I do love your stroganoff recipe.

Jillybean said...

Well, at least it smelled good. You could have been stuck with a really gross smell in your kitchen for days.

Tori :) said...

Yeah... it doesn't look too great. Onions are good.

Nancy Face said...

Yeah, it looks really ugly, but I'm certain I'd LOVE it! I like everything you put in it...I'd just add shrimp and my joy would be complete!

I'm serious.

The reason I only follow recipes that have a picture! "Sounds good" is a phrase I only like when I'm using my ears! Nice try. :@)
