Moderation?

I'm sorry, I don't apparently recognize that concept.

I don't know what it is that is SO difficult for me about moderation in all things. I actually started a post this week about why moderation is so difficult, and I came to realize that, um, I don't have a clue.
But I thought it was hilarious that my post started by talking about why I can't eat just one brownie when whole pan is sitting there. And then I read Tami's comment about how difficult it is to eat just one brownie when there is a whole pan sitting there. I swear I'm not making this up.

Maybe it's genetic.

But seriously, I'd rather eat NO brownies than only eat one small one.

If I'm not in training for a marathon, I have no desire to run at all.

I can't just sweep my floor. I have to spot mop it too. Or just completely leave it alone until we can't walk in our bare feet without getting crumbs and junk all stuck to our soles. ewww.

Then there's blogging. Is there such a thing as only ONE hour of blogging per day? It's killing me. But Hey! I found out this week that I actually have a laundry ROOM - - vs the laundry CAVE I've been working in for awhile.

I know, right?

Apparently the only thing I'm capable of showing moderation in is
drinking Diet Coke.

watching The Deadliest Catch on Discovery Channel.
eating Twizzlers

ok, pretty much nothing.
But today? Today I'm going to sweep BUT NOT SPOT MOP.

You gotta start somewhere.

See? This is why we're twins. All or nothing, baby, all or nothing. ;)

Finally, finally, someone who understands. I am EXACTLY the same way. The brownie thing is spot on. I also am all or nothing on lots of other things, which is the reason that I've lived in the same house for almost 4 years and my walls are practically bare and nothing is decorated, because I want it ALL at the same time, or not at all.

I still don't know how you do just an hour. It makes me want to burst into spontaneous singing of "You're the inspiration"

I like my brownies large, about the size of a salad plate. :D

"cuz I want it all..or nothing at all"

That is why I don't like those fancy-expensive restaurants becuase they give you a sample size piece of steak with 1 1/2 dime sized pieces of lettuce topped in some fufu sauce.

BAH!

Love to read about you. It comforts me that I only eat 1/2 the pan.

I only blog for an hour.

(At a time)

I won't say how many "times" a day I blog, however, I can keep it to an hour;0)

If you don't cut the pan of brownies into pieces, it totally counts as only one brownie, so yes, I can stop at one brownie.

I'm the same way! Especially with blogging!

Thanks for the comment on my blog! Sorry I just sort of started commenting on yours! I've been reading some of your past posts, and you are hilarious!!!!

We must be related. I think the lack of moderation thing is genetic, in fact, I think we all got it from Mother Eve...well, maybe not her but perhaps someone a little farther down the line....

Thanks for the comments on my blog-good luck on your missionary. I admit I was a little weepy for awhile but then you get real busy with life and time just moves on.

My sisters told me they GRIEVED..I really thought that was going overboard (that moderation thing again) so I was determined NOT to be that way!

Boy do I identify with this post. I can't not mop the kitchen after I sweep it either. And blogging is finally coming under better moderation after 10 months. But I still haven't got it completely balanced and likely never will.

Um, one can never eat just one brownie.

Oh boy. Moderation is hard. Especially when it's something you LOVE!
I find it hard to not drink too much diet dr. pepper.

When you figure it out could you please let me know because I am exactly the same way. Oh well, nobodys perfect, we are all just trying to get that way.

Ugh, I hate moderation! Lately I feel terrible that I haven't had much time to get to all of my blog friend's blogs. I wish I had more time...

I am so with you on the brownie thing. If I take even one bite, I need to eat the crunchy edges from the ENTIRE perimeter of the pan. I'd rather have none at all than just an itsy bitsy one!

Moderation is REALLY tough! :0

Hmmm... Stalker or new friend.... stalker or new friend... stalker OR new friend... That's a tough one... I guess I'll opt for new friend this time.

Love the blog!

I have such a problem with moderation--that's why I have to give up chocolate. (If I had some control, I would just cut back, but the brownies talk to me ; )

All I can say is Ditto, Ditto, and Ditto. Next time I will try to use a little more moderation when saying "ditto". Or not.

I've found that there's only one way to absolutely get everything done that you want to in any given day - and that's making someone else do it!
But, I think they say, "slow and steady wins the race" (as long as it's not a marathon, I guess?) and seeing how you've excavated that cave o' yours, you must be on that right track.

Great. Show-off!

Now I have to go spelunking in my OWN cave. Just keepin' up with the Joneses, or the Justrandi's.

So, it's YOUR fault I had brownies on my mind all day and am looking at a pan full right now! ;) J/K

Actually, I think I read this post yesterday and then all day I kept wanting chocolate. I made the batch and have had ONLY one!
