I Love this Woman!

Finally! Someone who will advocate for families. I LOVE that she's not part of the establishment. Is she perfect? Nope. But I think she's as close as we've come in a very long time.

If the link doesn't work, see it here.

If you missed The Speech last night, try to find it and watch it somewhere. It was out-of-the-park amazing.
But my very favorite part? Sarah Palin's daughter "taking care of" her little brother during the speech.
Adorable.

If you want to disagree, fine with me, but let's keep it nice, mkay?
The big debate is going on here.

I'm not in to politics and don't normally follow the national conventions, etc until it's time to make "the decision" at the ballot box...yes...naive...

But I happended to flip on the tube last night just as Sarah was starting and I was SO IMPRESSED. She is amazing and I absolutely loved her. I got that tingly feeling while watching her...I can't wait to learn more about her.

This is the first year that I have even cared more than a smidge about the election and stuff. I mean, other years, I thought, it's not so bad. This year though, I plan to make my vote count! I love love love Sarah Palin! I think she is a rockstar and exactly what this country needs right now- A MOM to FIX things!!

The Wiz said...

I love her. Her only problem is that she comes with McCain attached, and he'll be the one with the big job, and there's no guarantee he'll listen to a word she says.

Can I vote for her and not him? If only there were a way.....

I LOVE HER TOO!!!!

I just risked alienating readers by blogging glowing praise for her on my blog today too!

No, it's not just you! I just blogged about her this morning, and posted the same video as well :D

WOO HOOO!!!! GO PALIN!!! ♥

did you see her acceptance speech she gave in Minnesota? It was sooo AWESOME!!

Go Palin! I loved her speech, I thought she was incredible! WOW!!! GO FIGHT WIN

Jennie said...

I loved her speech as well! I think she's smart, witty, tough and exactly what our country needs. Like you said, she's not perfect but close. I'll step off of my soap box now.

Well, she's not Mitt, but I guess she's okay. Mitt has done a lot in the last six months to pave the way for a run in 2012 or 2016. I hope the religious right gives him a fair shot at it.

I guess I'm going to hold my nose and vote for McCain. I just can't stand him. I definitely think Palin was a gutsy choice for the VP, though.

melanie33 said...

Ditto to The Wiz's comment above. I wish I was voting her into the office of president, because really what does the VP really do anyway? come to think of it, what does the president do? It's all about congress.
But I am really impressed with Palin. That is my point.

I loved her and her speech. I loved her Mom-factor and I love that she is an approchable, normal woman!

McCain picked the best one out there, so much better than any one else!

I'm not into politics but did find here speech amazing. It actually held my attention which is hard to do with this subject. I am very excited for this election...

I'm a newbie here for the first time, saw you on mormon mommy blogs, can't wait to read what you have to say!

Little GrumpyAngel said...

Another newbie here from Mormon Mommy Blogs. Yes. I watched her last night. She clinched it for me. I was not really excited about McCain, but now I'm back to the fold. I'm a working mom, and if there's anything that irritates me it's attacks on working moms and the notion that somehow they are not good mothers. So GO Sarah!

Yvonne said...

I agree--did you see when the little sister spit on her hand and smoothed out the baby's hair--too cute.

Heather said...

We watched it last night too. I was so impressed with her. Yay, the election is looking up for me.

joanna said...

I was very impressed with Gov. Palin and I hope people see her sincerity. She can offer the country a much-needed makeover in their family values. She has a normal family with normal issues, and it seems they are trying to do the best with what they have.

I flipped to the speech just as the camera panned to the sister "doing" the baby's hair - so heartwarming! I, too, am impressed, and excited to see what happens with Palin.

Cheryl said...

I'm evil because I want McCain to win and then die.

Okay, I'm not evil because I want him to win, but I want him to die. But not because I hate him or because I go around wishing for people to die, it's just that I want to see what our country can become with Palin running it. I have this awesome bubbly feeling that she would ROCK. THE. WORLD. And I want to see it happen.

So, am I evil for wanting McCain to pop off? Sigh. Such confliction... ;)

Doesn't anyone think she's the teacher from Varsity Blues in disguise? They're seperated at birth I swear.

Melissa said...

Grr... I missed it! The kids were being way whacko last night and I caught the part where McCain said some cheesy thing about "What a lovely family" or something. Which they are lovely, but it just reeked of cheese when he said it. I have seen several clips today, but not the whole thing. I have to say, I'm loving this gal! And that's what she is... she's a small town, homegrown, down to earth gal! I know that people are gonna try to tear her apart, but I have a feeling she's gonna stand strong. Pit Bull, indeed!

That moment, when Piper licked her hand, was my absolute favorite. I laughed so hard!

Salt H2O said...

I was jealous of Democrats because they had a candidate they loved.

I wanted to LOVE a candidate, not just tollerate one because the alternative made me shiver in my boots.

Thanks to McCain to finding someone I could whole heartedly adore! I'm excited about politics again.

goddessdivine said...

She was a major hit. I don't see how McCain can top that.

The dems should be afraid; very afraid....

Love her!

I was so impressed last night... and I had pretty much decided I would make my statement by NOT voting.... well, she changed my mind.

Thanks for posting something positive about her! I can't stand how the media is trying to spin her talk to a negative thing. She was on FIRE and we all know it.

I loved last night.... and I am laughing all the way to booth to VOTE for a great WOMAN.

WHOOP, WHOOP!!! The speech was amazing! I agree with paul, and joanna and "salt h20" and (gulp) I even agree with cheryl a little bit. And everybody else!!!! Gutsy, gutsy move on McCain's part, but probably the best decision somebody ever made for him.

Yes! I knew knew I liked you :)
I saw the title of your post and I knew who you were talking about and then I thought I should link to that very same video and HA!

Ahem, anyway first I was all like "meh" and then, last night, I watched Giuliani and I'm like "hmm, ok" and then she came on and I am like "I LOVE HER!!!"

I did the same thing Elastic did. I researched her, I listened, I LOVE.

The Dillon 6 said...

not sure about her as VP or (if he were to kick it) President of the USA. BUT, I do think she'd make a Most Excellent Relief Society President! :)

i thought the little girl holding her brother and slicking back his hair was just precious.

i like ms. palin but doesn't she look like she should be some famous blogger. something about her looks reminds me of someone... or something.

anyways, if she and mccain are nominated, she'll make a very interesting v.p.

Vern said...

HEY! You stole my post!

Seriously, when I saw the little girl licking her fingers to fix her brother's hair I tried to reach through the TV and take her home. This chick has made things SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING!

Anonymous said...

I can get behind this woman. I am sure Piper has learned to solve that hair problem watching her mom on the go. A woman with more than one way to solve even the problem of a bad hair day.

Tori :) said...

She has made my choice to vote for McCain so much more bearable. YAY!

Em-Cat said...

Ok - Yes she's a mom and she makes McCain look a lot better...she's a Tina Fey look alike and seems to handle herself well in front of a crowd, but is everyone judging her on that? Have we had time to see what kind of leader she'll be? She's been governor of Alaska for less than a year and before that was a small town mayor...does that qualify her to be the leader of the US if something happens to McCain? If we vote McCain in, we're obviously going to be at war with Iraq and Afghanistan for another century...and there's the George Bush Junior factor as well. I agree with the Wiz...no matter how "likeable" she is, she's still McCain's running mate and we'll have to deal with him much more than we'll have to deal with her.

mormonhermitmom said...

If only she were the candidate. She's not enough to get McCain into office. Obama had twice as many people at his speech than McCain, and no hecklers.

Super Happy Girl said...

Sarah Palin does not have 5 kids, she actually has 7. Their names are Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, Trig, Chuck Norris, and Jack Bauer.

Sarah Palin is the “other” whom Yoda spoke about.

Sarah Palin keeps her hair in a beehive to hide her ninja weaponry.

A grizzly bear once tried to stare down Sarah Palin. Once.

Sarah Palin wears half the makeup that John Edwards wears and still looks like twice the woman he does.

FACT.

Because you love Palin you'll be greatful for This article in the Wall Street Journal

i think she is amazing, i just don't know how she will do it with taking care of her small children, I can't even keep up with my laundry, I can only imagine how hard it will be to run a nation,,,though i am sure she will have maids and nannies, her husband and such but still,,, i just can't imagine how hard it will be...

ktmay said...

Love her and McCain. They have my vote (and everyone else's in my huge family)all the way.

Em-Cat said...

Correction...she's been the governor of Alaska for less than 2 years not 1...oops!

So far I find her very impressive! I also was charmed by her husband during her VP acceptance speech when he was introduced and he stood up! I feel the family will be in good hands when she is not there! It seems as if supporting their wife/mother in this role is a family choice! Good for them!
