And the Winner Is -

There were SO many great quotes, as always! And you all managed to pull out the most meaningful and most concise. I'm really impressed!

Truly- I loved them all. I've been touched recently, though by President Monson's special ability to really see and care for "the one". Even though his calling has him meeting thousands of people every month, he still takes time to minister and treat people as individuals. I'm trying to do better with that skill.

And so with that in mind, my very FAVORITE quote this time was:
"Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved."

and that makes our contest winner (first person to comment it in)..... Happy Mommy!

Of course, you know that I'm now required to say that everyone's a winner, because everyone who participated had their lives enriched and uplifted.

I hope at least a little bit of that enrichment and uplifting really did rub off a little, and give you peace.

And HM - email me privately to claim your prize.

That really is a great one. Even a good reminder for me tonight, when we're struggling with our 3yo hitting the baby randomly. Need to remember that the consequences are important, but not as important as making sure he's loved.

And yeah, I *do* feel like a winner, too! The extra effort I put into listening for good, short quotes made my conference experience better this time around, so thank you for the little contest!

Congratulations Happy Mommy! I love that quote and hope I can live the principle behind it.

That was one of my most favorites, too - but Happy Mommy had already mentioned it! Way to go! This was a great "contest"!

Again -- thank you for this "contest" -- box of goodies or no, I came out with SO much from this Conference!!! And it's all because you challenged me!

Randi- I have seen your sweet little pink bird around. So glad you said hello. I see you know that wonderful Pam.

Love your post. The quote about the other person, is so wonderful. I just believe that with all my heart too. We are so very blessed.

Thanks so much for the contest - I have a frame on the wall at work with a thought for the day so I just collected dozens of fresh and inspirational thoughts from the contest. No one is LDS but me so this way others I work with can be inspired too. Also I'm impressed with how fast everyone else can write - we tried to catch quotes but couldn't be sure of getting it right. Thanks for everyone for sharing!

I had to stop in and say that I really, really, REALLY love that quote. It's beautiful, and very true, too. Good job, Happy Mommy!

Can anyone complete Russell M. Nelson's statement? It starts like this:

Minimizing personal demand maximizes ________________.

Thanks!

It is amazing how quickly some of us (Me) loose focus. Thank heaven for Conference.

Yay for me, and for all of us that got into seeking for the powerful quotes of conference!

I am always so ready to tackle my life after conference is over.

I needed that reminder today. Kids first. Housework second.

I'm downloading talks today so I can read them all this weekend.

Thanks for being my link to Conference. I loved all the quotes your commenters listed. Thanks for hosting the contest--I think it should be a semi-annual event.
