Just Another Day

Me: Hey Mimi - Where'd you get that chocolate bar?  (and can I have some???)

Mimi: Ummmm, I went to the grocery store with Tori during my off hour. (and sure)

Me:  Hey, we've had this conversation before.  If you want to leave the school grounds during school hours, you have to tell me in advance.

Mimi: {noncommittal shrug}

Me: Seriously.  If you can't remember it on your own, I'll have to give you a reason to remember it.

Mimi:  I guess.

Mimi: Am I still grounded from before?

Me:  I don't know.  My life is just so much easier when you're grounded.

Mimi:  Is that really where you want to go with that?   Because if it is,  I'm going to give you a reason to remember it.

Oh.
Yeah.

It's virtually impossible to be annoyed at someone who has just given you chocolate.  I think I'll just take her advice.

Gee, at my high school leaving campus (study hour or not) was grounds for suspension. I'm glad there are still some sane schools out there!

I agree it is virtually impossible to be annoyed with someone who has just given you chocolate. DH was commenting the other day, "And I knew you were upset with me, but I didn't know how to fix it, and you're thinking, 'well duh, give me chocolate'." And, yup, at that moment I was thinking, "gimme chocolate." He's learning =D

I think chocolate could solve all the problems in the Middle East.

"I'll have to give you a reason to remember it." But..but this has been a tried and true warning passed down from generations to generations in the forever circle of life!!!

The acorn does indeed does not fall far from the tree.

You will have to start a therapy counter for your grand kids.

It really is a WHOLE LOT EASIER when they're grounded, isn't it ; )

I'm a sucker for chocolate, too.

The quality of chocolate might influence your grounding policy, no?

If only my husband would try the chocolate trick right before he asks to go to a football game. Loved this post.

Hey. Just wondering how you're doing. It's been a long time since your last post. Is it bad if I say that watching an episode of 16 and Pregnant made me think of you? Hope the reason that you haven't blogged isn't that you killed your daughter and are now in the slammer. :P
