As Long As Everyone's Happy

A couple of weeks ago,  I went out of town for a week.
Before I left, I asked the Brain if he would like me to plan and shop for some dinners for while I was gone, or if I should just stock up on the makings for his all time favorite meal - peanut butter and grape jelly with ruffles chips. (Yes, it really is)
He actually surprised me by asking for a few dinner ideas, and specifically some crock pot ideas.    I was just a tad skeptical about this whole thing (based on, oh -- 27 years of experience)  but there's a first time for everything, right?

Here's what I left:

This is what made me laugh out loud when I came home:

I wonder what he ate?

(I was just happy that everything was in the dishwasher. Also I consider the presence of plates a bonus.)

do you think he washed the plates in between meals, or just reused them until it was time to load the dishwasher?

Ha ha ha! Oh Randi, thanks for making me laugh out loud. That was great!!! Hugh's favorite go to meal/snack is pb and honey. :)

Awesome. When I'm gone (and even when I'm home most times) it's all spoons...cereal, ramen, ice cream, the bare necessities can all be eaten with a spoon.

BWAHAHAHA! What a nerd! I would have totally thrown in a few other utensils, just to avoid this very blog post.

And while it would have been wasteful, I would also have thrown away some of the frozen meals.

It would have been a small price to have paid for my self-esteem!

I say that, of course, with only the best feeling for the Brain. The Brain is a good man!

And, by gosh, he's smart! Hence, the name!

The Brain is a man after my own heart. Could it be that the combination of salt, peanuts and jelly somehow lubricates the synapse pathways?

My dishwasher often looks similar to that. Or maybe there are lots of bowls and spoons...

So awesome. That's what my dishwasher looks like these days. Pregnant and YW Pres is never a good combo.

So funny. Well they know you love them enough to plan for them. Love the printed menu! Aren't you organized and helpful.

I avoid dishes when I cook/spread for myself too! No plates, just use a paper towel!(And there would of course be frozen yogurt cups in the trash too.)

Hey! You have the added benefit of a weeks worth of dinners all ready to go when you got back! :)

sooo funny! I just came home from a weekend away (he had to stay and work) to a sink of bowls and spoons - the go-to meal being cereal here.

Looove the picture!

That is epic! I love that you were so careful with your instructions, even including suggestions for sides…and then he goes and eats sandwiches! At least now you have a few freezer meals that you can put together and not worry about it. :)

Beyond awesome! The picture is one of a kind. Might it be said, then, that if the Brain likes peanut butter and grape jelly with ruffles chips that it be hereafter referred to as 'Brain Food'?

That is hilarious!!! You are such a good wife to get everything all organized and ready. And how smart of you to have all the fixin's for his favorite meal on hand....just in case. :)
