So I turned around to do something, and came back to the stove to find that the pan I was using had been moved to the back burner.
I looked at him with that "um, why?" look, and he said,
"Did you know that if you put the pan right under the fan, the smoke goes up there, and the smoke alarm doesn't go off?"I searched his face for signs of a grin, but no, he was totally serious.
I asked
" did you really not know that already?"Nope.
I'm taking this as a sign that either:
- A) he needs to spend way more time in the kitchen
- B) he doesn't like it when I use the smoke alarm as a dinner bell.
Possibly both.

How did he not know that? And I totally vote A.
Nice. Just think if you left all the cooking to him.
Hee hee!
:) I made well actually burnt popcorn yesterday and decided to throw it out on the back lawn..did you know burning popcorn will "melt" nice green damp grass....I didn't already know that...
If The Brain had a blog:
"So the other day, The Blogger and I made breakfast burritos. As you know, this involves quite a bit of stovetop work. Now, God bless The Blogger - I love her to death - but it seems like every night, she sets the darn smoke alarm off. Every time it happens, I feel like sticking a rusty fork in my eye - seriously, it's been going on for years! So, back to the breakfast burritos - when she turns around, I move her pan to a back burner. She looked at me like I was an idiot, so I politely told her, 'Did you know that if you put the pan right under the fan, the smoke goes up there, and the smoke alarm doesn't go off?'
So, get this. In response, she asks me, 'Did you really not know that already?'
Is this crazy, or what? She acts like I am an idiot for pointing out this obvious fact. But if it's so obvious, why in the world does she use the smoke alarm like it's a dinner bell every night?
Sometimes, I wonder if I'll ever understand women!"
I just felt that someone needed to present The Brain's perspective on this breakfast burrito incident.
Isn't that what a smoke alarm is for?
Paul- LOL! I'm sure yours is more accurate than mine!
That was pretty funny Paul! I think he's on to something- let's have the Brain do a guest post.
Wait..the purpose of a smoke alarm isn't to tell you when your food is done?
Seriously?
Are you sure?
You lost me at "the Brain" ...but then I am new to this mayham..
Seems like moving the pan to the back burner would make it hard to reach and still cook...how is that for a twist to this?
I will be silent now.hehe
B.
Say what? LOL
I couldn't get past the part about making breakfast burritos. I love breakfast burritos. Now I'm hungry. I hope the alarm goes off soon!
That's hilarious! :D
(Paul's version is funny, too! )
That's too funny! And I love Paul's version too :D
I vote that he spends more time in the kitchen!!!
Love Paul's version ; )
Ha ha ha ha!!! Yeah, when it comes to stuff like that (Cleaning, cooking etc.) most men don't have a clue on what's going on.
We made breakfast skillets the other day, so I know what you mean by it being a lot of stove top work!!! But it's all yummy, so it's okay :)
