Yeah, I have noticed that her posture is not so great. Maybe she hasn't, though. I think you should give her a call and let her know. Or write a letter.
But didn't you know she is growing a vegetable garden at the White House? Of course she did the obligatory photo shoot digging in the garden. So that's where she gets her veggies these days....
Wow, I never noticed that! Since, she's a tall lady I think it stems from always being the taller girl in class and slouching has followed her to adulthood.
I am a major sloucher. I hate it. I look a thousand times better when I stand up straight but I still have such a hard time remembering.
We mostly just thought it was very strange that she wore a sleeveless dress. Especially in the picture when she was standing next to the Muslim woman who was completely covered except for her eyes. And I wish it wasn't mandatory for politician's wives to wear heels. I think she would probably walk much better etc.
I think her problem is that she is so tall. I think people automatically do that without knowing. I remember Diana who was so tall but you never saw her do that. I wish I was tall. I'd be thinner. :) I haven't warmed up to Mrs. President yet. Maybe if I ever warm up to her husband, I'll change.
I think she is a beautiful and charming person. My tall daughter slouches a bit--and has some back issues because of her height--but I see only her beauty. I wish we would celebrate the best of one another and not focus on the flaws.
So, I was coming back to say something about the appropriateness (not) of her choice in clothing. I'm with Dave: Where's the sleeves? Seriously. When have we seen a first lady dress so immodestly? Uh, never. They've brought change alright.
Actually, I'd like to tell Michelle Obama to stop sending women back to the dark ages and let go of her desire to be Jackie O.
Every interview with her puts women in a terrible place- talking fashion and marriage. Can the media stop focusing on what she's wearing and start talking about some sort of substance in this woman?
But then again, that didn't work out so well for her on the campaign trail- so I guess it's in her best interest to try to be a fashion plate instead of a role model.
Thanks for giving me a place to vent...though it's only remotely relevant to this post.

She is sort of slouchy. She looks great though!
I would be miserable having all of those photos taken of me! I slouch, too . .
I guess she is somebody who read a lot growing up? That's what I blame my slouch on. Definitely not my lazy attitude toward it. :)
That, and to quick giving crappy gifts to world leaders.

When I was a young girl and was so much taller than everyone else I slouched and consequently I still slouch today.
Maybe Baracko should give her one of those Strap Perfect bra clip thingies.
You know, since he likes giving people chotskies.

You are so right! Maybe it is a self esteem problem! LOL

Love your blog! Found you in mormon mommy blog.
Isn't there a rule about one's head being above the queen's head?
I can forgive the slouch because she has the guns to shut anyone up.
(whimper) No Flair?

I just re-read that comment. That's the dumbest sounding comment I believe I have ever made. sotallsotallsotalltalltalltall
What can I say. It's four in the morning. :(
How about
"Are you dressed appropriately? Let's go back to your closet and find something with sleeves on it"
That's how I imagine I would say it. If I ever had a girl.
<<sigh>>

I don't like slouching, and I don't like sleeveless!
My daughter was always taller than her friends, but I always pushed good posture instead of slouching. I'm so glad she listened to me! :)
If I had her spouse, I think that I would slouch, too. ;)

Tall people are slouchy and they don't even realize it. It's subconscious.
Plus, when tall people know that their tall spouses are running the economy into the toilet, they probably slouch even more.
:)
